Imagine- if you will- that it is 1821 and a young girl is preparing for her very first ball. Nervously she practices her steps, perfects her curtsey and checks her hair in the mirror. With just 10 minutes before the sedan chair arrives to whisk her and- of course- her chaperone away to the excitement of an evening spent in polite society, the girl uses her last few moments alone to calm her nerves. Tonight, is her chance to meet a husband and to advance in society. It all rests on this moment….
