Medieval Dance Workshop- Sunday 23rd February
Sunday 23rd February, 1-4pm, The Mount School, York.
We once again return to look at some of the earliest written records of historic dance and see how they danced in Medieval Europe!
Within this workshop we'll cover some of the popular styles of social dancing from the period such as the carole (circle or line dances) and branle. We'll then head over to Europe to learn the courtly dances of the period before returning to the earliest known text of English dances- The Gresley Manuscript.
The workshop will cover a selection of dances and is suitable for beginners as well as those more experienced. You do not need to have attended a previous workshop. No need to bring a partner just suitable comfy shoes for dancing.
Experience the enchanting world of Medieval Dance!
